Let's Talk About Race with Baratunde & Cenk Part 3

And the conversation continues. I'm a bit late with my response, but i did read all the comments on Cenk's previous video on JJP, Huffington Post, The Young Turks and YouTube, and that's mad reading.

You can go to one place for the entire series btw. That's http://letstalkaboutrace.wordpress.com

I really enjoyed this... I'm late on the conversation, but I got a good idea of how it was started. I really appreciate several of your points including but not limited to:
*We must embrace the fact that racism does exist and that it exists to some extent in all of us.
*There is a lack of education on the subject which causes a lot of denial and/or fear.
*White people do need to take responsibility for their part in the system of racism but there is a lack of education (see point above, lol).

I'd like to hear more ppl's opinions on how we approach+expand racial dialogue to make it more inclusive. However in many ways there is a stigma with being black that becomes more than a class based prejudice. It would be desirable if we could keep it class based because I think that's a simpler model to address. But because our race based prejudice was unprecedented and so deeply ingrained in hatred and denial I'm afraid it's more complex than class. So how do we address the emotions (pain, hatred, fear) that are involved in centuries old oppression and prejudice? This is the point that makes me so weary because the answers never include a whole picture perspective+solution. What is a solution that will benefit all sides of the equation (black+white, poor+wealthy, etc.)? I feel that when the solution isn't based on the benefit of one group and blame isn't placed on one group then we'll actually make progress by leaps and bounds.
